I suppose this issue can be argued from both sides. Yes, it's possible to drink too much water and I've seen people who walk around with a giant water jug in their hand most of the day. I don't think it's healthy for anyone to just sit and chug down 2 gallons of water in a short amount of time (like the woman who drank a bunch of water in a contest to win a Wii). Intake should be spread out throughout the day and evening. We should listen to our body to tell us when we are thirsty. I know speaking for myself, I don't drink enough water and can tell when I'm getting dehydrated. I'm sure there are many other people who do not drink enough water too. I know a few people who never drink water at all and rely on their fluids from soda, beer and solid foods. I don't think that's healthy at all. I also don't think 5-8 glasses per day is too much.
Historically speaking, humans have rarely had sufficient sources of clean water to permit each person to drink 2 quarts per day. Water beyond basic hydration disturbs electrolyte balance, stresses the kidneys, and depletes water soluble vitamins.
Making another attempt to lose weight. Other diets I've tried: Diet Workshop, Weight Watchers, Calorie Counting, Low Fat, Slimfast, Optifast, Atkins, Kimkins and HCG injections. I also looked into having weight loss surgery done, but my insurance won't pay for all of it, so I'm trying the Roca Labs Gastric Bypass Formula in hopes that it will be my answer.
FYI.
